How can I create a personal account ? How can i access it ? To open an account, go to the section «Create my account». Register as a new acquirer or as a photographer and fill in the proposed form. As per your registration, you will receive a confirmation message on the indicated email address. By clicking on the link "confirm message" you will be registered definitely.. How can I display my photos on PhotoLicence's site? Its important that you scan correctly your photograph and ensure its resolution is at least 1 000 000 pixels. you can calculate your photograph's resolution by multiplying its length by its width. (For instance, a photograph taken at a resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels has a total resolution of 786 432 pixels). We do impose no limit to resolution or size of your photographs, so enjoy yourselves! Then you just have to go to the section"Sending a photograph" follow the photograph registration and sending's procedure. I wish to create a photograph profile how do I go about it? To create a photograph's profile, you first have to posses a photograph's account. Thus when you log in on your personal account, you can complete your profile at the heading« To consult and modify your parameters ». ->click on the button "photograph" below . It will enable you to choose directly which personal information you wish to give to all site's users to make yourself known ; your name, your hobbies, your face or the avatar that characterises yourself. You can shape by yourself the contours of your personality .You may have also noticed that apart from the section reserved to your profile, you also have access all across the heading "consult and modify my parameters" to checkboxes entitled "visible for all to view" . By selecting each of the checkboxes, you insert the information found in the field corresponding to your diffusion. When your profile is created, it will appear instantly under the heading« Photographers » on the photographer's area . How should I proceed to submit photographs ? Users who have created a photographer account can send photographs on the website after having validated their registration. It is important that your photograph has a resolution of at least 1 000 000 pixels.On the column << Send photograph>> (click on "Photographer's area" on the left menu ,and then on "submit your photographs" or go to your account and click on "send a photograph"). In the two cases follow the procedure for sending photographs; you will have to fill in a French title, an English title, the corresponding categories of your photographs , the availability for sale and adhere to the photographer's charter of PhotoLicence© . Finally attach your jpg file just like you would do for an email attachment.Click on browse to look for the file on your computer,when the file has been localized,select it and click on "Open".After filling in all the fields on this page,click on "Send". Here, you'll find all the information required to create a photographer account. . When shall I fill in my keywords ? Its while sending your photographs that you fill in your key words. After having filled in and validated the first page under “Submit a photograph”, you then get to the page “ inserting keywords”. You ought to insert a minimum of 5 keywords. An automatic English translation is then proposed to you .You can at the same time state the characteristics of your photographs (Black & white, large plan, panorama…). When you have filled in the key words and the significant characteristics of your photographs, click on “Send”. May I send photographs with recognizable people on? Since we cannot be certain that the people who appear on the photographs have agreed to publicly appear on our web site, we do not accept any image showing people who are recognizable. Thank you for your understanding. When creating a photographer's s account, a payment threshold is mentioned; what doest it correspond to? The payment threshold corresponds to the lowest limit that your account must exceed so that Photolicence proceeds to your payment. By defect, this threshold is fixed at 100€. You may choose to increase this level when you register. This action could simplify the management of your account and you could receive less frequent but more important payments. It's a long time I have sent photographs that still have not yet been displayed on the web site. What's happening? We receive all the images sent through our sending form. The rate at which we insert photographs on our site depends essentially on the number of images we receive each day and the images we have in pending . However, please note that PhotoLicence© gives priority to photos with the best resolution and whose keywords has been completed fully. As soon as Photolicence has dealt with your photographs, whether they are accepted or rejected, you will be informed instantly by email. It might happen that Photolicence refuses to put some photographs on the website for the following reasons : • resolution below 1 Megapixels, • Photograph's poor quality (blurred or uninteresting image, etc.), • Representation of physical persons that are directly identiable. • Theme that could appear political, immoral, insulting, defamatory, illicit, depreciating, pornographic or xenophobic. How does PhotoLicence fix the price of a photograph ? PhotoLicence tariff rates have been established after a complete market research so as to keep as close as possible with the current market's standard. Photograph's unit price is calculated according to its pixel size basis. The customer can choose the size of the photo he/she desires and the photograph' price is calculated as follows :
With regard to CD-ROMs' sales, there is a fixed price which does not take into account the number of photographs contained. I wish to change the availability for sale of a photograph already available on PhotoLicence©'s site. How do I go about it? The photographer can change at anytime the availability of his/her photographs for sale, directly from his/her personal account. You just have to log in and insert your password. Then, click on « My Photos' list » to see the full list of your photographs appearing on Photolicence's site. By clicking on the “Details” button of the photograph, you can select the photograph you wish to modify. Finally, you can choose to either "make the photograph available for sale" or "make the photograph unavailable for sale". Keywords are very important : they are used as reference for your photographies, on both search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc) and on the english and french parts of the Photolicence's site. The more keywords you include with your photograph, the more chances they have to be seen, appreciated and quickly included on this website. Indeed, PhotoLicence© gives priority to photographs which contain keywords during the insertion process. If you experience trouble with filling in your fields think about the associations that can be made in relation with the main subject (for example, for a boat : prow, sails, sea, mast, etc) or general information related to your photograph ; geography (for example, for a building : the city, the region, the country , etc ) I use a Macintosh. Can I send my photographs ? No problem. This website has been designed to be fully compatible with all common computers (PC, Macintosh, etc.) and operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, Linux, etc.). I wish to send and sell my photographs. What are customers' favourite topics, what kind of themes are they looking for ? Our customers usually look for photographs that can be used on different mediums, hence with the highest resolution possible. The most wanted themes are often the rarest. It's worth noting that the most recurring demands are related to scientific and technologic themes in general such as astronomy, computer science, laboratory, technical buildings, rockets, etc. Considerable interest is also given to textures. |
